
NEW DELHI (India): The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for teacher empowerment, academic support and institutional efficiency in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) in the country.
NESTS is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs of the Government of India. The MoU has been signed with CoGrad (Supervision Educare Private Limited), which develops artificial intelligence-driven platforms for teacher empowerment.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Ranjana Chopra, Secretary, in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Among those present were B. N. Prasad, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and Dr. Pratima, Commissioner, NESTS.
The partnership is expected to support more than 9,000 teachers across 499 EMRSs currently functional across the country and eventually benefit over 1.5 lakh students.
Under the arrangement, the company will provide free access for a period of two years to a customized and tailored version of its educator-focused digital platform. It will also train EMRS teachers, principals and academic administrators for using the platform, according to an official press release issued here.
Key features of the platform include AI-enabled tools for automated quiz and assessment generation, lesson planning support, creation of 3D models, and generation of teaching-learning material. The initiative is expected strengthen the digital capabilities of the EMRS ecosystem. The initiative also aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. By leveraging AI-driven learning and innovative pedagogical practices, it seeks to strengthen educational outcomes and expand access to quality education for students across the country.
